Description: The PIC Group is seeking to fill ONE (1) Quality Engineering position for a Temp to Permanent term working a minimum of 40 hours a week for an Automotive Tier 2 company that is dedicated to plastic injection molded parts. This position will report directly to the Quality Assurance Manager.Primary areas of responsibility include (but not limited to):
- Design, implement and maintain testing and reliability quality systems within the manufacturing guidelines.
- Prepare Production Part Approvals (PPAPs) on new and existing products involved in the APQP process.
- Develop, update, and maintain control plans, PFMEAs, process flow diagrams and other quality manufacturing documentation.
- Supervise Quality Control Inspectors including making decision on quality problems found during production, allocating work, reviewing performance, and maintaining records created by the Q.C. Inspectors.
- Address external and internal quality issues including containment and disposition of suspect and nonconforming products and communicate the issue back to the customer of internal function.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis and implement corrective and preventative actions for nonconforming products and processes (8D).
- Verify the effectiveness of corrective and preventative actions.
- Communicate directly with customers on APQP, PPAP, and quality issues.
- Develop gauge / fixture requirements and assist with their calibration and maintenance.
- Assist in preparing, implementing, and reviewing quality policies and procedures.
- Evaluate parts and processes for continuous improvement of production operations.
- Perform dimensional layouts as req’d.
- Able to work flexible hours and overtime.
- Able to travel to customer / supplier locations within North America on short notice.
- Ensure compliance to TS 16949 systems and procedures.
Qualifications:
- University degree is required.
- Knowledge of quality systems within a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive.
- Able to understand mechanical blueprint drawings.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Knowledge of use, calibration, and measurement analysis of various inspection and testing instruments.

- Responsible for the development of the quality system / procedures to support customer requirements and assign resources as required – ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner.
- Manage the quality assurance systems including inspections, sampling, and the testing of incoming material as well as the products, components and parts produced by the company as per established standards.
- Evaluate and develop gauge requirements and specification analysis as per the APQP process.
- Schedule and monitor activities of all quality related functions and services such as PPAP, FMEA, and root cause analysis 8D.
- Responsible for cost of quality program and reporting system.
- Ensure corrective action effectiveness (analysis) and timely resolution of customer issues – 24 hrs.
- Monitor SPC data and capability studies for all specified characteristics.

- Ensure effective communication with all departments and customers as related to quality issues / concerns – provide reports to senior management on all external issues.

- Ensure compliance to TS 16949 systems and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Post secondary degree / community college in the quality field – C.Q.T.
- 3 years minimum related experience in quality department – (Automotive Experience)

JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the CFO, the IT Manager is responsible for the planning, management and direction of systems development and deployment, management and development of a small IT group and a range of internal and external client-facing IT services. You will ensure optimum service delivery to the broader organization, driving improvements that improve services to the end user.Significant and hands on experience is required including:
- Senior level management and development of IT infrastructure, outsourced applications, IT staff, system functionality, internal/external customer care, IT innovation and performance, etc.
- Senior level and hands on coordination of ongoing development and rollout of new automation systems impacting all parts of the organization.
- Hands on management of network system administration, SQL database management, security, Cisco Firewalls and VPN, hosting, etc.
- Hands on experience with MS Dynamic Navision ERP system.
- Senior level and hands on management of software/hardware projects including application software development, deployment and control.
- Senior level management of HelpDesk functions, effectiveness, efficiency and interaction with user groups.
- Hands on management of IT vendor relationships, hardware and software procurement
- Management of company wide IT assets.

The first priority, after familiarization, will involve the development and rollout of the software system to implement a company wide automation solution.
QUALIFICATIONS- Strong and recent experience leading an IT support group in a fast paced, multi location firm operating in Canada and the US
- Solid and recent experience with Project Management – specifically -- design and scope review, vendor management, planning timelines, implementation and internal change management involved in rolling out new software systems to all locations. This will involve some experience in conducting business process needs analysis, including business process mapping and Implementing IT projects in partnership with business process leaders
- Experience in revamping/creating the IT infrastructure and systems deployment roadmap
- Familiarity with mid range MS based systems including SQL databases, Sharepoint, Navision
- Familiarity with outsourced desktop applications
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with Operations, sales and Executive management
- Solid and recent experience with Project Management – specifically -- design and scope review, vendor management, planning timelines, implementation and internal change management involved in rolling out new software systems to all locations. This will involve some experience in conducting business process needs analysis, including business process mapping and Implementing IT projects in partnership with business process leaders
- Experience in systems and policy/procedures/practices documentation
